Education Assistant Intern

Clever Communities in Action is a nonprofit organization that creates youth programs that use culturally affirming literature to promote literacy, build community, and heal traumas inflicted by systemic racism affecting the African American community.

Our innovative and growing organization is seeking an Education Assistant Intern. Intern Job Responsibilities

*Must work well with children and teens

* Must read or listen to the book The Color of Law (we can provide the book or free audio)

* Assist with developing evaluation and assessment measures for programs

* Assist with program facilitation for middle and high school students

* Manage and monitor Basecamp

* Send pertinent information to students, parents, partners and advisory council

* Provide input on program curricula

* Assist with program recruitment process

* Manage newsletter

* Research relevant content to post on our social media

* Assist with various assigned projects throughout the internship

*Communicate with Executive Director, Program Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator

Work Hours & Benefits
This internship will pay a stipend equal to $12/hour approximately 15 hours per week  (June – August 30, 2024).

This position includes on-site and work from home. On site hours are June 20th - August 3rd, Saturdays 10am - 1pm, Thursdays, 6:00pm -8:00pm and July 8th - 18th, Monday - Thursday, both on the Norfolk State Campus. Our goal is to provide real-world work experience, a platform to sharpen and gain skills, and be part of team that prioritizes youth and community.

Intern Qualification/Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication * Strong organization * Program evaluation *
Skilled in the use of common desktop applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint * Research * Outcomes measurements and evaluation data * Able to work independently and with a team

Education & Experience
Current college student
All majors are welcome, with a preference for education majors
